Start-Up Funds for Young Investigators - $500,000
An important goal of the the Liver Center is to identify talented young investigators and groom them to be leaders in liver research. Your gift of $500,000 could provide a start-up package for a young investigator at the begining of his/her scientific career. Start-up funds are used at the recipient's discretion for personnel, supplies/services or equipment.
Pilot/Feasibility Awards - $50,000
Each year, the Liver Center uses a portion of its NIH funds to provide seed money to investigators with promising research projects. Pilot/Feasibility Grants are one-time awards of $50,000. Your gift of $50,000 would enable the Center to sponsor an individual award. Matching opportunities are also available.
Sponsor a Symposium - $10,000
The centerpiece of the Liver Center’s Enrichment Program is its Annual Symposium. Spanning a full day, this program includes research presentations from Center members, progress reports from Pilot/Feasibility awardees, and a keynote presentation from an Advisory Board member. There is also a dedicated poster session giving trainees the opportunity to present their research and exchange ideas with the Advisory Board and other Center members. A gift of $10,000 would help defray the costs of hosting this event.
