Alcoholic Hepatitis: Integrated multi-OMICS to identify new targets for therapy
Dr. Bataller is a physician-scientist. His research focuses on liver fibrosis and the mechanisms and determinants of mortality in alcoholic liver disease, with a particular focus on impaired regeneration and immune cell activation in alcoholic hepatitis. His clinical interest includes the management of patients with alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and critically ill patients with cirrhosis. In addition to innovative mechanistic studies in animal models and human tissue samples, he is leading pioneering translational efforts.
