Mechanisms and Function of Polyploidy in the Liver
Polyploid hepatocytes represent the majority of hepatocytes in mice and humans, and, although they were documented over a century ago, their role in liver homeostasis and injury is poorly understood. This seminar will provide an overview of hepatic polyploidization and describe new research on the role of polyploidy in liver regeneration and chronic injury.
