Nathan Bass, MD, PhD
Research Interests
My research focuses on clinical and translational studies of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, complications of end-stage liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. I am site director for the NIH-funded NASH Clinical Research Network, in which one local project addresses the genomic basis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. In concert with other multi-center groups, we are conducting therapeutic trials of pharmacological agents in patients with complications of cirrhosis including portal hypertension and hepatic encephalopathy.
