Research Interests
My research focuses on the complications of liver disease, including non-invasive prediction models of variceal hemorrhage and improvements to the MELD-Na score for predicting short term mortality. Our aim is to utilize objective findings of portal hypertension from imaging studies to optimally manage patients with cirrhosis. Findings such as ascites may add to current risk models for predicting short term mortality. Methodologies include outcomes research using large databases, prognostic models with risk reclassification, and survival analysis.
