Chris Freise, MD
Research Interests
I serve as the UCSF director of A2ALL, an NIDDK-sponsored multi-center, longitudinal effort to define the optimum indications and long-term safety and efficacy of living donor liver transplantation. The objective of this work is to contribute to a core database of health information on both donors and recipients obtained pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-transplant. The collection provides an opportunity to address a number of collaborative research questions relevant to both donors and recipients, such as the development of procedures to optimize intraoperative treatment of the organ donors and identification of factors that predict the recurrence of hepatitis C in recipients of living donor transplants.
