The Pathology & Imaging Core provides economical liver histology as well as expert, liver-focused service for complex histologic techniques such as immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy. In addition, the Core offers expert interpretation of liver histology, the only facility at UCSF for this purpose. Finally, the Core expands member horizons by introducing them to novel imaging tools for research studies.
The Core is located at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC) as part of the SFVAMC Cell Imaging Core. The Core is the only facility at UCSF that offers transmission electron microscopy.
