Center announces the recipients of 2009-2010 Pilot Feasibility Grants

The Center is pleased to announce the following Pilot Feasibility grant awardees:

Center welcomes its newest External Advisory Board member

The Center is honored to announce that Dr. D. Brent Polk will be joining the External Advisory Board.   Dr. Polk is Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University, and Program Director for the Vanderbilt Digestive Disease Research Center. Dr. Polk's research focuses on intestinal cell signaling in inflammation and tumorigenesis.  His knowledge of GI cell biology and DDRCC administration will be great assets to the Center.

Center awards its second Tool and Technology Grants

The Center is pleased to announce Drs. Jody Baron, Scott Biggins, and Melanie Ott as the recipients of the second round of Tool and Technology grant funding. New Immunology & Virology Core Personnel

The Center welcomes Amanda Goodsell as the research specialist for the Immunology & Virology Core.  Amanda has worked in academia and biotechnology for 12 years, most recently with Chiron/Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics.  In the Immunology & Virology Core, Amanda will maintain the LSRII flow cytometer and assist Center members with experiments and study design.  She will also complete development of a quantitative RT-PCR assay for HBV DNA in biological samples, which will soon be available for a modest recharge. 

New Reduced prices for the Pathology & Imaging Core

The new prices will be effective starting June 1, 2009 for all members.
